Insulated glass is composed of two sheets of tempered glass. Between the two sheets of glass is an aluminum ***cer filled with desiccant . The aluminum ***cer and sheets of glass are adhered and sealed by butyl and then polysulfide or silicon.
Two sheets of glass or one sheet glass can be clear, tinted , tempered, patterned glass, acid etched glass, laminated glass, Reflective, low –E.
Reflective and Low-E I.G. unit also called coated I.G. Unit.
If clear glass or coated I.G. unit, it will have very different heat transmission and insulation results.
